Hidden Spring Community Farm  Early Season FAQs

Where is the farm?

The farm is just south of Dry Creek and north of Banker bewteen Humphreys and 6th. You can get there by taking the dirt farm road that turns off of Farm Ct by the community barn or by parking on Banker between 7th and 8th  and walking down one of the paths that leads from Banker to the farm.

When does the group work at the farm?

In 2019 our main work day is Monday.  We start at 6:00 PM and are usually through by 8:00PM. In the summer we work from 7:00-9:00 PM on Mondays.  Later in the season we will also be working on Friday mornings.

Do I have to come every Monday?

No.  Join us as often as you are available.  During the summer we will also have work times in the morning.  Once you know what to do you can come anytime you like.

Is the farm a CSA?

No.  Many years ago the farm was a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture).  Participants paid a fee and received produce in return.   Now the Hidden Springs Community Farm is a group of HIdden Springs residents who volunteer their time at the farm.  We share the work and share the harvest.  When you come to work you will also receive a share of the harvest.  The Hidden Springs Town Association generously supports the farm.  If is an amentity for residents.

Is the farm organic?

We are not certified organic, we do follow organic farming practices.  Only organic products are applied to farm fields and crops.

Can I bring my family?

Yes, please do.   Many farm activities are kid friendly, we offer special activities for children several times a year.    Please plan on working with your children at the farm.
