POOL SEASON COMES TO AN END 9/13
The pool season will come to an end, Sunday evening, 9/13. We hope you’ve enjoyed another great summer at the pools! Please remember to check the lost and found baskets at the pools as the Town office will not hold on to these items.
BARK & SPLASH LIBRARY FUNDRAISER 9/14
Grab your furry family member(s) and head to the pool for a doggie swim party! Back again by popular demand, the community pool will celebrate the end of the swim season by allowing dogs to enjoy their own dedicated swim time, Monday, 9/14. 4-7pm $10 per dog. ALL proceeds benefit the Hidden Springs Library. For registration details (pre-registration required to participate) contact: office@hiddensprings.com

APPLE PRESS AT THE SCHICK-OSTOLASA FARMSTEAD SATURDAY – 9/12 10-2PM
Come enjoy a fall family activity making apple cider from our own Hidden Springs orchard on Saturday, 9/12 from 10am-2pm.
The Davis family will once again host the 4th
annual Hidden Springs Apple Press. The event will be held at the historic Schick-Ostolasa Farmstead. Stop by the Orchard to pick some apples and then head over to the Farmstead to press them into fresh cider. Enjoy a barbeque lunch, provided by the Davis family. Donations for the Dry Creek Historical Society will be gratefully accepted. More event information is coming soon.
17TH ANNUAL OLD TIME FARM DAY SUNDAY 9/27 12-5PM
The Dry Creek Historical Society proudly presents the 17th Annual Old Time Farm Day at the Schick-Ostolasa Farmstead (5006 W. Farm Court, Boise, ID 83714). A fun day for all ages reminiscent of life in the 1860’s with live music, kids’ activities and games, historical demonstrations, and food available for purchase.
Attractions this year will include many vendors, a silent auction and bake sale and much more! Admission is: $8 per person or
$30 per family and children under 3 years are free. Proceeds go to support and restore the Farmstead, which is owned by Ada County and managed by the Dry Creek Historical Society. For more information: www.DryCreekHistory.org
SCARECROW BUILDING AND CONTEST
Get ready to show off your creativity! Scarecrow building supplies (frames and burlap, while supplies last) will be available for pick-up at the Town Office from 9/21–9/28. Happy building! Contest Timeline:
- Drop-off: Bring completed scarecrow(s) to the Town Office (during posted office hours) by noon on 10/12.
- Display: Scarecrows will be showcased along the agricultural field fence ( Hidden Springs Dr. & N. Humphreys Way) from 10/15 – 11/2.
- Voting: Cast your vote for your favorite! Ballots will be available at the Town Office or at the Scarecrow Ballot Box located on the fence at Farm Court & N
Humphreys Way.
- Ballots due: By noon, 11/2 (one ballot per household).
- Winners Announced: 11/6 — prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
- Scarecrow Pick-up: If you’d like to keep your creation, please remove it by end of day, 11/6. Remaining scarecrows will be removed and disposed of on 11/9.
4th QUARTER SEWER ASSESSMENTS Due October 1st

- Assessments are Due by the 1st day of each quarter to Keystone, January 1st, April 1st, July 1st and October 1st
- Payments are delinquent when received by Keystone after 5pm on the 10th day of each quarter and a 10% late fee is applied. 18% annual interest applies every month on unpaid
· Making Payments at the HSTA Office
When making your payment to the HSTA office when the 10th of the quarter falls on Monday through Friday, payments must be received by noon, as we then must drive the payments to the local Keystone office in South Meridian in time for them to process the payments by 5pm.
- If the 10th day of the quarter falls on a weekend or holiday, payments must be dropped off to the office no later than noon on the previous business day prior, to allow for the same processing/drive time to the local Keystone office.

E-VOTE
The Hidden Springs Town Association (HSTA), in accordance with the Bylaws, requires all HOA members to provide and maintain a valid email address on file. HSTA will be implementing electronic voting with upcoming initiatives and elections commencing late Summer and in the Fall. More Information Coming Soon!
PUMPKIN PICKING FALL FESTIVAL 10/11
Join family and friends for a fun day of pumpkin picking, kettle corn and fall photo ops. More details coming soon, mark your calendar and get ready for some pumpkin patch fun! This event is for Hidden Springs Town Association Members only.
MAILROOM BULLETIN BOARDS
Use of the community bulletin boards is limited to respectful, community-related communication. Content that is political, inflammatory, harassing, personally disparaging, vulgar, or otherwise inconsistent with the purpose of the bulletin board is not permitted.
CONSIDERING AN IMPROVEMENT PROJECT?
Per the governing documents, any improvements to the exterior of your property must go through Design Review as outlined in the Residential Design Guidelines, Section 5.0 and CC&Rs Section
6.1. The Town Design Review Board meets monthly, and review dates and forms are available on our website or can be emailed upon request. Submissions are due one week prior to the Tuesday meeting. If you are unsure whether your project requires review, please contact the Town Office. If you are repainting your home with new exterior colors, you must complete and submit a Design Review & Exterior Color Selection Form, available online or in the Town Office. Include paint chips with your form and drop them off at the Town Office at any time. Please allow 10 working days for processing. If you are repainting your home using the existing colors without making any changes, approval is not required.
WOOD FENCE REPAIR AND STAINING
Many wood fences in Hidden Springs need restoration and fresh staining to help maintain the community’s cohesive appearance and protect property values. In 2019, the Town Design Review Board approved the solid stain color Sherwin Williams Deck Shagbark 3001 (or BEHR Cordovan Brown SC 104 as an alternative) to create consistency among the various fence stain colors throughout the neighborhood. Thank you for helping keep Hidden Springs beautiful!
Re-staining existing fences: Homeowners may continue using previously approved colors—Olympic Semi-Transparent White Birch 901 or Cedar Natural Tone—or switch to the new approved color. Proper preparation includes repairing damaged wood, power washing, drying, and applying two stain coats.
New or replacement fences: Must use the new approved solid stain color, Sherwin Williams Deck Shagbark 3001 (or BEHR Cordovan Brown SC 104), with appropriate surface prep and two stain coats applied.
Important: Any other stain colors require prior approval from the Town Design Review Board.
ANNUAL LEAF PICK UP
The Association in partnership with Hopkins Evergreens will offer leaf pick up this fall (weather permitting). Dates and a pick-up schedule will be shared with the community in October.
FALL REMINDERS
Rules in a homeowner’s association are in place to protect the safety and well-being of the community, preserve property values, and maintain a high quality of life for all residents. As we head into fall, the Association would like to remind everyone of a few important guidelines.
Trash bins must be stored out of sight or properly screened using approved methods, with no exceptions for bins placed in alleys (RDG 2.15 and CC&R 6.5 Nuisances).
Boats, RVs, campers, and trailers may only be parked for short-term loading, unloading, or cleaning for up to 72 hours (RDG 2.11 and CC&R 6.9 Vehicles and Equipment). We have noticed an increase in RVs and trailers parked longer than permitted, as well as recreational vehicles parked on lawns, blocking sidewalks, or obstructing driver views—these situations must be corrected.
Please also take time to inspect and trim your trees and shrubs for safety. Look to see if branches are obstructing street signs, vehicles, or hanging at pedestrian eye level.
In some areas, low limbs have forced pedestrians into the street to avoid injuries, and utility or service vehicles have broken off branches. Property owners are responsible for all aspects of maintaining trees in the parking strip(s) adjacent to their home or lot (watering, fertilization, insect control, pruning). This does not apply to trees maintained by the Association under agreements applicable to the development. The Association is responsible for the public trees along Hidden Springs Drive from the Seaman’s Gulch entrance to Park Lane Drive, as well as parking strip trees next to HSTA-owned properties (refer to Policy 600).
As you plan your holiday lights and decorations, remember that Hidden Springs is a designated “Dark Sky Community.” Residents can review the Addendum to Section 2.19 Exterior Lighting of the Residential Design Guidelines on the website for more details. Please consider putting your holiday lights on a timer so they are not on all night. Please avoid lighting the night sky continuously throughout the year and do not keep holiday lights on your home year-round.
