WE RENT GOATS
Tuesday, June 30, 2015

We Rent Goats will be edging, setting up electric fence line and setting up water troughs for the goats starting tomorrow Tuesday June 30th.  Expect to see the goats end of day tomorrow or Wednesday morning.

·         Below are the first two locations and anticipated time frame for goat grazing:

  • Location 1 – Schick’s Ridge Draw and the narrow strip behind the homes at Schick’s Ridge and Shafer – Goats will be moved up the Draw in segments focusing on the center of the draw.  Goats will munch this area for approximately a week to a week and half.
  • Location 2 – Andy’s Gulch – Goats will be herded from Schick’s Ridge over the back side of Schick’s Ridge/Upper Ridge down onto the back side of Andy’s Gulch.  Goats will munch this area for approximately a week to a week and half.

Remember to keep a respectful distance when observing the goats as they are protected by an electric fence and companion guard dogs.

If you have questions or concerns regarding goat grazing, please call the HSTA office or Lisa Ahrens directly at 208-447-9427.  You are also welcome to contact Tim Lindquist, We Rent Goats 208-989-0806.

We will be contacting residents in each of these areas to connect a hose to provide water for the duration of their stay.  If you would like to volunteer, please call Lisa Ahre

RECYCLING
Tuesday, June 30, 2015

This spring, glass collection and recycling formerly available to Hidden Springs’ residents at the trash collection station in the Community Barn parking lot was suspended.  It was suspended due to increased trash at this collection station, residents filling the dumpster with yard clippings, debris, large items and the time and costs associated with transporting the glass two times a week to the recycling center.  Despite a few good leads, we were not able to identify a company or a way to provide glass recycling in the community.

For the immediate future, a large recycling bin will be delivered and located next to the trash bin in the collection station at the Community Barn.

Residents will have a second location to drop off paper, cardboard, plastics and cans (other than your home blue tote) and Community Barn renters will be able to collect and recycle items from their event.

Please refer to the attached list of items that you can and can not recycle.   The HSTA will incur fines from Republic Service if the recyclable bin contents are contaminated and the contents re-routed and disposed of as trash.

In the event HSTA incurs fines, the recycling bin will be removed and replaced with a trash bin.

NO PARKING REMINDER
Saturday, June 13, 2015

Just a reminder to residents that “No Parking” means “No Parking.”  Per the Ada County Zoning Ordinance, signs are posted through-out the community for public safety.  In the event of an emergency, police, fire and ambulance require public street access.  On street parking in a “No Parking” zone has the potential to hinder an emergency vehicle’s ability to move along the roadway.

Idaho Code prohibits parking within 15’ of a fire hydrant, in front of a public or private driveway in a street or alley, on the wrong side of the street facing oncoming traffic…for more, please visit the Hidden Springs website where we have posted “No Parking Signs” from ACHD FAQ’s.
